You are invited to attend a grand opening ceremony for the Tacoma Youth Marine Center and celebrate the Sea Scout Centennial. Visitors will enjoy free refreshments, sea scout boat tours, small boat and kayak sailings on Thea Foss Waterway, and tours of the facilities new docks, classroom, and flag mast. Visitors are also encouraged to bring an item for the Sea Scout’s food drive. The event will be held on Sat., June 16 between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 11:30 a.m. The Tacoma Youth Marine Center, located at 820 East D Street, is a youth-oriented facility located along Thea Foss Waterway that provides a safe place for training youth about boating and the local marine environment. More information is online here.
