David Schroedel recently joined the Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber as the new Metropolitan Development Director.
Schroedel will be representing the Chamber on transportation issues as well as topics pertaining to downtown Tacoma. Part of these responsibilities will include day-to-day management of the Business Improvement Area (BIA). Through the BIA, he will be working to ensure that downtown Tacoma remains a safe, clean and inviting place to live, work and play.
Schroedel comes to the Chamber after several years with his own consulting firm, Schroedel Planning Services, where he worked with a variety of public and private clients on development and land use issues.
Prior to starting his own firm, Schroedel also worked for a Tacoma-based consulting firm AHBL, Inc.
A graduate of the architecture program at Yale University, Schroedel was born and raised in Tacoma, earning a diploma from Stadium High School.
“In a nutshell, my job is to make Tacoma as desirable as possible,” said Schroedel. “This allows me to participate in discussions ranging from street design to business lending to event planning. What could be more exciting than getting to improve the City I love?”
