The City of Tacoma is recruiting volunteers for the Citys Citizen Review Panel for oversight of the Tacoma Police Department. The Citizen Review Panel will be comprised of five unpaid positions appointed by the City Council in initial terms of one, two and three years. Members will be responsible for:
— Engaging in community outreach
— Monitoring and reviewing complaint investigations and statistical reports
— Conducting policy review
— Attending monthly public meetings
Qualified applicants will be screened by a criminal background check and must: be a registered voter, have lived in Tacoma for at least two years immediately before applying, not hold any other elective public office, not currently serve as a member of the Tacoma Police Department or be an immediate family member.
