The staff at Job Carr Museum in Old Town Tacoma will host four walking tours that highlight local history.
The first event, Tacoma History Walk – Our Croatian Heritage, will be held at 9 a.m. on Sat., May 9, and focus on Tacoma’s early immigrant experience. The second event, Tacoma History Walk – Tacoma City, Our First Port, will be held at 11 a.m. on Sat., June 13, and focus on the history of Ruston Way. The third event, Tacoma History Walk – Tacoma’s First Main Street, will be held at 5 p.m. on Weds., July 15, and focus on the early 19th Century on North 30th Street in Old Town. Finally, the fourth event, Tacoma History Walk – Tacoma Springs to Life, will be held at 5 p.m. on Weds., Aug. 26, and focus on how Tacoma transformed into a thriving city.
All events are pay-what-you-can. Pre-registration is not required. However, visitors are encouraged to arrive 10 minutes before the scheduled start time. The walking tours will take place rain or shine. All tours begin at Job Carr Cabin Museum, located at 2350 N. 30th St., in Old Town Tacoma.
