Tacoma Goodwill officials announced Wednesday the organization will open a new store next month in the South Tacoma neighborhood.

The 25,000-square-foot store, located at 8025 South Hosmer Street, will feature major departments for clothing, housewares, glassware, books/media, toys, and furniture. The store will create 25 new jobs in store retail, management, warehouse, custodial, and maintenance positions, according to Tacoma Goodwill officials.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held on Thurs., June 6 at 8:45 a.m. to mark the store’s grand opening. The event will include live entertainment, face painting, and light refreshments. New customers can enter an in-store contest to win a new flatscreen television, a $250 Goodwill shopping spree, and grocery store gift cards.

Tacoma Goodwill opened a new outlet store earlier this month in the heart of Tacoma’s Nalley Valley district.
