Sound Transit will host an open house this month to discuss the Tacoma Link Expansion Project.
Earlier this year, Sound Transit’s Board of Directors identified a potential Link light rail expansion alignment that would continue north from the existing Theater District Station to the Hilltop District via Stadium Way, North 1st Street, Division Street, and Martin Luther King Jr. Way. As part of the environmental review process, Sound Transit will evaluate the potential community and environmental impacts of the proposed alignment, stations, and expanded maintenance facility near the existing facility at East 25th and G streets.
The open house will be held on Tues., May 20, between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m., at Allen AME Church, located at 1223 Martin Luther King Jr. Way, in Tacoma. Visitors will learn more about the newly identified alignment, comment on potential station locations, review maintenance facility site options, discuss key design factors, discuss types of potential environmental impacts to be evaluated, and hear about next steps for the Tacoma Link Expansion Project.
