Pierce Transit CEO Lynne Griffith announced Friday she will retire at the end of this year.
“This is a good time for me to leave,” said Griffith, who has led the transportation agency since April 17, 2006. “We are on stable financial footing now, and I feel I can leave Pierce Transit knowing there are great opportunities ahead for the agency, the [Pierce Transit] Board, and the employees.”
In a letter to the Pierce Transit Board and employees, Griffith noted some of the many staff achievements during her tenure, including introduction of the Gig Harbor Trolley and the Puyallup Connector.
