Neighbors in South Park will gather for a United Neighbors Against Crime community cleanup and fair this Saturday, Sept. 28.
Safe Streets will host the all-day event at Visitation School, 3306 S. 58th Street and along 58th Street from Birmingham to Lawrence avenues.
Tacoma CARES will help with the street and alley cleanup from 10 a.m. to noon, when the group will break for a free community barbecue.
The community will celebrate its success in reducing crime during an awards ceremony and community fair from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., including games, safety events and more.
For the cleanup, Tacoma CARES will not pick up hazardous waste such as batteries, paint, oil or tires.
