Tacoma picks contractor for 2 building demolitions

The City of Tacoma has picked one local contractor to demolish two buildings in South Tacoma.

First, the City of Tacoma has selected Wm. Dickson Co. to demolish a former restaurant building located at 722 S. 38th St. Four contractors bid on the project: Wm. Dickson Co. ($37,494 — Tacoma, Wash.); Pelland Enterprises ($40,382.80 — Puyallup, Wash.); Dirtek Disposal ($43,499 — Tacoma, Wash.); and Woodland Industries ($49,000 — Puyallup, Wash.). The project budget was originally estimated between $30,000 and $50,000. The bid deadline expired on Mon., May 12.

Second, the City of Tacoma has selected Wm. Dickson Co. to demolish a former single-family home located at 6506 Tacoma Ave. S. Three contractors bid on the project: Wm. Dickson Co. ($10,028.65 — Tacoma, Wash.); Woodland Industries General Contracting ($12,600 — Tacoma, Wash.); and Alpha & Omega General Contracting ($15,500 — Port Orchard, Wash.). The project budget was originally estimated between $10,000 and $13,000. The bid deadline expired on Weds., May 7.
