Tacoma Public Schools Planning & Construction Department REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL/ QUALIFICATIONS (RFP 14003P) GC/CM Services for the McCarver Elementary School and the Stewart Middle School modernizations. INSTRUCTIONS TO RESPONDENTS A. PROJECT INFORMATION: The Tacoma School District is requesting proposals from firms interested in providing General Contractor/ Construction Management (GC/CM) services for the modernization of McCarver Elementary School and Stewart Middle School. The alternate Public Works contracting procedure authorized in RCW 39.10.061 and 39.10.340 through 39.10.410 will be utilized for this project. Firms with previous general contracting and construction management experience or experience using a similar CM/GM or GMP format are encouraged to apply. The GC/CM will receive overall direction from designated representatives in the Planning & Construction Department Office, and will work as a member of a team to achieve project objectives. This team will include representatives from the Architect (DLR Group for McCarver / Bassetti Architects for Stewart) and their respective Engineering and Design Consultants. Both schools were originally built in 1924 and are on the City of Tacoma's Historic Registry. The current schools will not be occupied during the construction years. An informational Meeting (and walkthrough) of both schools will be held October 24, 2013 starting at 2:30 pm at Stewart Middle School, 5010 Pacific Ave, Tacoma, WA 98408, and following at McCarver Elementary School, 2111 S.
