World Trace Center Tacoma, Port of Tacoma and Tacoma-Piecre County Chamber recently announced this year’s winners of the annual Globe Awards.
The list of award recipients includes:
Globe Award — General Plastics Manufacturing Company. The Globe Award, presented by KeyBank, honors a business who contributes to our community’s international status through their trade participation.
Marco Polo Award — Tahoma Imports. The Marco Polo Award, presented by Simpson, recognizes a small or medium sized business for first time success and accomplishments in international trade.
Community Vitality Award — Transportation Club of Tacoma. The Port of Tacoma Community Vitality Partner is a Pierce County business, agency or individual in the maritime, trade or transportation industry who is a recognized leader in improving our community’s quality of life through economic vitality, cultural awareness, environmental stewardship or educational opportunities for the people of Pierce County.
George Frances Train International Business Commemorative — Emerald Home Furnishings. The George Francis Train International Business Commemorative recognizes individuals and businesses that have contributed significantly to the growth of international trade in Tacoma.
The award ceremony, which includes keynote speaker Robert Marcovitch, President of K2 Sports, will be held on Thurs., May 21 from 5:30pm-8:30pm at the Hotel Murano Tacoma’s Bicentennial Pavilion.
