Tour of Homes tickets available in mid-April

The Tacoma Historical Society will stage its annual Tour of Historic Homes on May 1 and May 2. A popular springtime event, the tour attracted about 1,300 visitors last year.

This year’s tour will focus on the Mason/Washington area of Tacoma’s North End. The Weyerhaeuser Mansion (Haddaway Hall) – now Northwest Baptist Seminary – will be featured on the tour.

Tour sites will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 1 and from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, May 2.

Tickets, priced at $12, will go on sale in mid-April at the Pacific Northwest Shop, Stadium Thriftway and at the Columbia Bank branches at 21st and Pearl, South 19th and Fircrest. Proceeds benefit the Tacoma Historical Society.

Volunteer docents are needed for the tour. Docent training sessions are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 24, and from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 28 at the Wheelock Library, 3722 N. Proctor St.
