The Department of Community Services is seeking new members to serve on the Allocation Advisory Committee for Prevention Programs, an advisory body to Pierce County government on the use of tax dollars set aside for youth violence prevention programs. The committee is seeking volunteers who live in unincorporated areas to help provide youth-violence prevention programs.
In its monthly meetings, members work to increase understanding of the impact of violence prevention programs, evaluate funding applications and make recommendations on the allocations of one-fourth of the Criminal Justice Sales & Use Tax.
