Bratrud Middleton Insurance has announced it will move to a new downtown Tacoma office building. The independent agency has outgrown its current 17,000-sqauare-foot building at 4701 S. 19th Street, where its been located since 1988. With plans to sell its building, Bratrud has signed a 10-year lease with Unico Properties for nearly 26,000 square feet of the Wells Fargo Plaza. Unico is owner and operator of the 25-floor Wells Fargo Plaza, a class A office tower located at 1201 Pacific Avenue.
The tenth and most of the ninth floors of the Wells Fargo building give Bratrud an additional 9,000 square feet. President and CEO Chuck Miller indicates that Bratrud had 68 employees in the Tacoma branch office three years ago. As of year-end 2001, revenues had increased over 20 percent to $22 million and the employee count is now 85 in the Tacoma branch office – an increase of 25 percent.
Bratrud hopes to move into its new office during the Thanksgiving holiday after a number of tenant improvements and infrastructure are in place.
