City Council members and the Public Utility Board are scheduled to hear the Green Ribbon Climate Action Task Force’s final recommendations for reducing Tacoma’s green house gas emissions at the July 1 study session. As a second item on the joint study session agenda, Tacoma Power will provide a brief history of the relicensing challenges involving the Cushman Hydroelectric Project on the Skokomish River; an update on the mediation with the Skokomish Tribe related to the 9th Circuit Court damages case and provide the current status and next steps of license negotiations. Immediately following the joint session, Council members are scheduled to receive an update on the fireworks ban.
The Council will not take public comment during the noon study session in the Tacoma Municipal Building North, 733 Market St., Room 16.
