Pierce County is providing kids 11 to 15 years of age the opportunity to experience the outdoors and connect with nature. Spots are available for Pierce County’s Mountain to Sound Eco-Adventure Camp July 28 through Aug. 1.
Parks and Recreation staff teamed with Public Works environmental educators to create a special outdoor day camp opportunity. The sessions will be offered at Meridian Habitat Park and Community Center, 14422 Meridian E., South Hill. The fee for the week is $165.

Events throughout the week will consist of indoor and outdoor hands-on activities, hiking, cooperative games, nature projects, scientific experimentation, journaling, storytelling, art projects, and special tours — all with an environmental awareness focus. Included are a visit to Mount Rainier, a walk on the Foothills Trail and a kayaking excursion on Puget Sound.
