A Puyallup man escaped serious injury about 10:45 a.m. Tuesday when his experimental aircraft crashed in a wooded area two miles southeast of the Pierce County Airport / Thun Field. The pilot, identified as Joseph Hoskins, based the plane at Thun Field. The cause of the crash wasn’t immediately determined.
Pierce County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the crash of what was described as a blue and white RV6 single engine aircraft. The site was near a water tower in the 13800 block of 176th Street East.
