The Tacoma Area Commission on Disabilities is recruiting new members to serve one, two, and three year terms. If you are passionate about creating equal access for people with disabilities, you are encouraged to apply.

The commission is particularly interested in individuals with knowledge of disability rights and cultural aspects of people with disabilities, as well as accessibility of buildings, public rights-of-way, programs and activities.

Commission members are appointed by the Tacoma City Council, and are required to attend monthly meetings. Meetings are held on the first Thursday of every month from 4 to 6 p.m. Applications are available at cityoftacoma.org/hrhs or by calling Gail Himes, City of Tacoma ADA coordinator, at (253) 591-5785 / TTY (253) 591-5153), and must be submitted no later than Sept.12.
