Pierce County’s Facilities Management Department is moving from its headquarters at 955 Tacoma Ave. to a larger space in the Columbia Bank building downtown.
The move begins today and is scheduled to be completed by week’s end. The office will be open for business today but closed Friday. “We will be operational in our new location Monday,” said Director Bret Carlstad. “We are working to cause minimal disruption to others during the physical move and will be checking our voicemail periodically during the transition.”
According to Carlstad, the Facilities Management team needs additional space as it grows. The current market allowed the department to negotiate a lease with a lower cost per square foot than the space it currently occupies.”
The new space at 1102 Broadway, Suite 302, totals 4,832 square feet compared to 3,379 square feet at 955 Tacoma Avenue. The 955 Building space will be occupied by the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
