From a crackdown on the owners of dangerous animals to the purchase of the Tacoma Narrows Airport, 2008 was an eventful year at the Pierce County Council — and you can re-live it in the council’s 2008 Annual Report.
The interactive, cross-referenced document ( http://www.co.pierce.wa.us/xml/abtus/ourorg/council/AnnualReport2008_Web.pdf ) contains an alphabetical roster of the council’s major legislation and activities during the past year. It has links to legislation and to corresponding video from Pierce County News, which is seen on C-RCC TV channel 22 and can be viewed online at http://www.crcctv.org/html/pcn.html .
Printed copies of the annual report will be available by e-mailing bchatfi@co.pierce.wa.us or by calling (253) 798-7790.
The seven-member council is the legislative branch of Pierce County government and sets policy, approves the budget and makes and amends the laws that comprise the Pierce County Code. The full council meets Tuesdays at 3 p.m. on the 10th floor of the County-City Building (930 Tacoma Ave. S., Room 1045) in Tacoma, and the council’s five policy committees meet at other times throughout the week.
