Tacoma blasts the midwinter blahs with LumnioCity, an art and shopping experience from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the downtown Theater District.
Those roaming the streets will find art in the most unexpected places – an opera singer in a coffee shop, for example, or a painter in a shoe store.
Last year, the event took a first place award from the Association of Washington Cities, and has served as a model for other cities like Portland, Seattle and Vancouver, B.C.
LuminoCity is sponsored by the Tacoma Economic Development Department and celebrates downtown Tacomas cultural and commercial renaissance over the past several years.
