Port of Tacoma, Tacoma Guitar Co. honored by World Trade Center Tacoma

The World Trade Center Tacoma has announced the Port of Tacoma as the winner of the esteemed tenth annual Globe Award for its major leadership role in the economic development of the region.

The Port of Tacoma is the sixth largest container port in the North America.
Each year, more than $19 billion of international trade, and $3 billion of Alaska trade, move through the Port of Tacoma.

Tacoma Guitar Company Inc. has been selected to be the 2003 recipient of the prestigious Marco Polo Award.

This award recognizes a small or medium-sized business for their success and accomplishments in international trade.

Tacoma Guitars was founded just seven years ago and has since become one of the leading guitar manufacturers in the United States.

More than 450 active U.S dealers, 26 Canadian dealers and 25 international distributors carry its products.

Professional artists that use the “Tacoma” brand include a wide range of performers from Peter Frampton to the Dixie Chicks.

The World Trade Center Tacoma’s Globe Awards Dinner is set for Thursday, Jan. 23, from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., at the Tacoma Convention Center at the Sheraton, 13th and Market Street.
