Sheriff's awards ceremony honors dozens

More than 50 staff members, returning military and special citizen awards will be given during the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department’s annual Department Awards Ceremony on March 25.

The event will be held at 1 p.m. at Pacific Lutheran University’s Knutzen Hall.

Pierce County Executive Pat McCarthy will give the keynote address. Lyle Quasim, who served as former Executive John Ladenburg’s chief of staff, will be given a special award.
Special “Core Values” awards for honorees selected by the Sheriff will be presented to Detective Sergeant Tim Kobel and Sex Offender Unit member Gay Lynn Wilke.
