The World Trade Center Tacoma, the Economic Development Board for Tacoma-Pierce County and the Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber have recently committed to a new partnership.
The three organizations are pooling office spaces on the third and fourth floors of the Chamber and Economic Development Board offices, located in the Rust Building at 950 Pacific Ave., in a concerted effort to enhance overall business services and to work closer together.
Construction began in late March on the Chambers floor.
We are please to begin sharing space with the WTCT and the EDB, Chamber President and CEO David Graybill said. We will be able to better represent our region and its principal business organizations. This agreement reinforces the cooperation that already exists.
Construction will occur over the next several months. The World Trade Center Tacoma is subleasing approximately 10,000 square feet of the Chambers present third floor space and the two offices will combine their reception are and conference room.
The Economic Development Board will remain in its present fourth floor location, but will make use of combined meeting spaces as well as other common areas.
Individual organizations offices will soon have unique store-like fronts.
Cynthia Spry, the Chambers finance and administration manager, notes, Business will be conducted as usual, however we do ask that patrons and members remain understanding of noise as construction proceeds.
Some reassignment of meeting space to nearby alternative locations may be necessary, Spry added.
