On Sept. 25, the City of Tacoma and the West End neighborhood will join forces to host a neighborhood cleanup from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Residents in this neighborhood are encouraged to beautify their neighborhood by dumping their junk. Homeowners and renters in single-family and duplex residences who live between State Route 16 (east and north) to South 19th Street to Jackson Avenue can unload unwanted items between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at Hunt Middle School located on the corner of South 8th and Mildred streets. All that is required to dump is a proof of residence in the neighborhood such as a driver’s license or current utility bill. Items that can’t be dumped include material from a business; cars, motorcycles, campers or boat parts; truck canopies, trailers, boats or recreational vehicles; daily household garbage; hazardous waste; riding mowers; and animal carcasses.
