On Thurs., Oct. 20, the City of Tacoma and Downtown: on the Go! will co-host a project update from 5:30 to 7 p.m. for the Pacific Avenue streetscape project that spans from South 7th Street to South 17th Street. The update will be held at Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber of Commerce, 950 Pacific Ave., Suite 300. The update is an opportunity to hear from the project team about the current designs, which are 60 percent complete, and to learn about provisions for multimodal transportation; rain gardens; historical lighting; other amenities and art; and project timeline and next steps. The project will include a new streetscape design, intended to help attract new business to downtown Tacoma and incorporate innovative stormwater management practices. For more information about the Pacific Avenue streetscape project, visit http://www.cityoftacoma.org/pacave .
