The developer of Point Ruston announced Wednesday a new state-of-the-art, nine-screen Century Theatres multiplex cinema will be part of a mixed-use lifestyle center dubbed “The Waterwalk at Point Ruston,” which is located at 5005 Ruston Way, currently in its early stages of development and construction. Architecture and design work will begin immediately, with the cinema scheduled to open in conjunction with the grand-opening of The Waterwalk at Point Ruston shopping center in 2014.

The Waterwalk at Point Ruston, a $150 million mixed-use lifestyle shopping center at the heart of the Point Ruston project, is currently under construction. The site is situated along 97-acres and one-mile of Puget Sound shoreline. The neighborhood being constructed will feature a lifestyle shopping center with more than 250,000 square feet of space, featuring four high-end restaurants, cafes, bistros and a wine bar, as well as retail shops. The shopping center will be anchored by a four-star, 175-room Silver Cloud Hotel, a 30,000 square foot organic grocer, and the brand new nine-screen Century Theatre at Point Ruston. The lobby of the new Century Theatre at Point Ruston will include a 40-game video arcade.

Cinemark operates three Century Theatres in Washington State, most recently opening a theatre in mall at The Commons at Federal Way.

The multi-phase Point Ruston development is currently under construction, with the first 217 residences slated for occupancy by summer 2012 and the mile-long Waterwalk public esplanade set for completion by year’s end. A $28.7 million infrastructure project is nearly complete, with the new Ruston Way roadway slated for its grand opening on April 21 with the running of the inaugural Ruston Way 5k road race.
