The major renovation of a downtown Tacoma storefront for Pacific Office Automation is complete. In May, the Tacoma Daily Index was first to report the branch’s 25 employees would move from 5102 20th Street East in Fife to 1114 Pacific Avenue in downtown Tacoma this month. Commercial real estate broker Tom Brown of Neil Walter Company told the Index the landlord was completing a turn-key build-out in preparation for the document imaging and office technology company to occupy approximately 11,300-square-feet in the street-level storefront space. Pacific Office Automation was founded in 1976 and has 16 locations in Washington, Oregon, California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Utah. In Washington State, the company has offices in Seattle, Everett, Kennewick and Tacoma. “It’s a better business move to be downtown,” one employee told the Index in May.
