The Washington Trust for Historic Preservation will announce this year’s recipients of the Valerie Sivinski Washington Preserves Awards during an open house next month at the historic Stimson-Green Mansion in Seattle.

Attendees will have the opportunity to see the mansion’s recently rehabilitated interiors and enjoy hors d’oeuvres and Washington wine.

The event will be held on Thurs., Dec. 13 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the historic Stimson-Green Mansion, located at 1204 Minor Ave., in Seattle. Tickets are $25 for members and their guests and $50 for non-members, which will include a one-year membership in the Washington Trust. Proceeds from ticket sales benefit the Valerie Sivinski Washington Preserves Fund, which provides small, yet meaningful, grants to local groups striving to save cherished community landmarks.

Past Tacoma and Pierce County recipients have included the Historic Fort Steilacoom Association, The University Place Historical Society, Meeker Mansion, Gig Harbor Boatshop, Fort Nisqually Foundation, University Place Historical Society, the Steilacoom Tribal Museum Association, and Historic Tacoma.

The Washington Trust for Historic Preservation is a statewide, tax exempt 501(c) 3 non- profit organization founded in 1976 to safeguard Washington’s historic places through advocacy, education, collaboration and stewardship.
