The Clover Park Technical College Board of Trustees is seeking qualified candidates to become the next president of the college. The comprehensive search was initiated after Dr. John Walstrum announced he would retire in September. Applications are due June 14.

After a period of input gathering from college staff and community leaders, the trustees have finalized a Presidential Profile and hired the Association of Community College Trustees to help lead the recruitment process. A 13-member advisory committee was formed to assist in the process. The committee includes representatives from across the campus, as well as three community members.

“We are committed to a transparent and inclusive process to find the best person to lead Clover Park Technical College into the future,” said Bruce Lachney, chair of the Board of Trustees. “Our process will include input from on and off-campus sources to ensure we find a visionary candidate prepared to capitalize on the many achievements during John’s tenure.”

Clover Park Technical College offers more than 45 career training degree and certificate programs in the areas of business, computer information and technology, health sciences, manufacturing, construction and trades, multimedia design, and personal care services. The college also offers certification, online and distance learning, as well as continuing education courses.

A Web site has been created to provide progress reports and developments on the search at cptc.edu/presidentialsearch. The site also provides a tentative calendar, relevant materials, and details on the application process.
