Pierce Transit to host Destination 2040 open house meetings

Pierce Transit will host a series of open houses in February to gather public input about services and routes the public would like the agency to provide over the next 25 years.

The process is part of Destination 2040, a long range plan that aims to serve as a guide for providing dependable, safe, efficient, and fully-integrated public transportation throughout the South Sound. To achieve that goal, Pierce Transit will host three open houses to share several service scenarios through the year 2040, as well as gather feedback on which scenarios the public would find most beneficial. The various service options were built using future population and employment projections for Pierce County, as well as factors such as buildable lands, household and employment densities, major activity or industrial centers, and any other criteria known to generate transit ridership and related demand, according to Pierce Transit officials.

Pierce County residents are invited to any of the following three open houses:

Weds., Feb. 3
Hilltop Community Room
1202 Martin Luther King Jr. Way
