Tacoma/Pierce County Habitat for Humanity will present the third installment of the organization’s quarterly film series at The Grand Cinema in April.

The Community Conversations Film Series began in August with a screening of the documentary The Unforeseen, followed by a panel discussion with local experts on the future of land development in Pierce County (see “Local Habitat for Humanity film series begins Aug. 10 at The Grand Cinema,” Tacoma Daily Index, July 31, 2015). The series continued in November with a screening of the documentary Storied Streets, followed by a panel discussion with local experts on affordable housing (see “Local Habitat for Humanity film series continues Nov. 9 at The Grand Cinema,” Tacoma Daily Index, Nov. 3, 2015). The series continues in April with a screening of the documentary Living on One Dollar, which looks at three young men and their journey to survive on one dollar a day in rural Guatemala.

The event will begins at 6:30 p.m. on Mon., April 4, at The Grand Cinema, located at 606 S. Fawcett Ave., in Tacoma. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion with representatives of Habitat for Humanity’s Global Village program, who will discuss the organization’s partnership with a Habitat for Humanity affiliate in Guatemala. Members from the local community who have been on trips to Guatemala with Habitat for Humanity will share their stories and experiences. The event is free, but a $10 donation is suggested.
