About Seattle Milk Fund
Seattle Milk Fund empowers low-income parents to create brighter futures through early and higher education opportunities for their families. As parents work toward their first college degree, their children receive a quality, early-learning experience that helps set them up for educational success as they start kindergarten or gives them a safe place to be after school.
When a family enters our program, they are eligible for more affordable child care that—on average—covers 70% of their child care costs; additional family support to help with basic needs; and a volunteer advocate to help cheer them on as they take this important step toward graduation and a career that pays a living wage.
Our students are determined. We are proud of our student parents’ 95% degree completion rate and 3.5 quarterly GPA. Our students are hardworking. Upon graduation, they expect to increase their earning power by 300%. Our students give back to society and the local economy. They become our community’s next nurses, teachers, accountants, scientists, engineers, and tech workers.
