THE STATE OF WASHINGTON TO THE SAID: JAMES TERRENCE TAYLOR, Defendant above named:
You are hereby summoned to appear within sixty (60) days after the day of the first publication of this summons, to-wit, within sixty (60) days after the 3rd day of February, 2023, and defend the above-entitled action in the above-entitled court, and answer the complaint of the plaintiffs, Bradley Berryman and Hsiao Yun Berryman, and serve a copy of your answer upon the undersigned attorneys for plaintiffs at their office below stated; and in case of your failure so to do, judgment will be rendered against you according to the demand of the complaint, which has been filed with the clerk of said court.
This action stems from personal injuries and damages of plaintiff Bradley Berryman, and damages and loss of consortium of plaintiff and spouse Hsiao Yun Berryman, sustained due to the assault and battery committed by the defendant James Terrance Taylor on plaintiff Bradley Berryman on September 3, 2020, in the Republic Parking garage located at or near 1114 Commerce Street, Tacoma, Pierce County, Washington, and the negligence of defendants Republic Parking Systems, LLC and Republic Parking Northwest, LLC, which negligence was a proximate cause of the assault and battery of Bradley Berryman by defendant James Terrence Taylor. Service by publication is authorized by RCW 48.28.100(2) and RCW 48.28.110.
