Candymaker Fred Haley will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award and lawyer Thaddeus Martin IV will receive the Rising Star Award at the Business Leadership Awards ceremony Wednesday, Jan. 28 at the Washington State History Museum.

These leaders will be honored – and another will be named Business Leader of the Year – at the third annual Business Leadership Awards, presented by the UW Tacoma Milgard School of Business, Heritage Bank and The Business Examiner.

Seven Business Leadership Awards will also be presented during the event, which begins with a reception at 5:30 p.m.

The Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes outstanding achievement by an individual whose career has benefited his or her field of business and the greater community.

The Rising Star Award recognizes someone new to the Pierce County market who already is making a significant impact and has potential to influence the community for good for years to come. The Washington State History Museum is located at 1911 Pacific Ave.
