The Washington Education Association (WEA), which represents 77,000 teachers, support professionals and higher education instructors, has announced the hiring of Miebeth Bustillo-Booth as its new public policy director. Bustill-Booth will lead the state lobbying program and direct the political action efforts of the organization.
Bustillo-Booths top priorities will include increasing compensation for all school employees, achieving a commonsense accountability system and fully funding public education, according to a WEA statement released yesterday.
