Northwest Landing, a planned community in DuPont, today announced that Stepping Stone Childrens Center has opened a state-of-the-art child care and pre-school facility in the community.
Stepping Stone spent $1.3 million on the new 8,000-square-foot facility to create a modern, comfortable and safe atmosphere for children.
Focusing on children ages six weeks to eight years, the center is equipped to accommodate approximately 100 children and 25 employees.
There is a great need in this community for this amenity, said Gregory Moore, general manager of Northwest Landing.
The new census report revealed that more than 11 percent of DuPonts population is under five years old.Im sure many parents are thrilled to have such a contemporary child care center right in their backyard.
We saw a real opportunity at Northwest Landing, said Marijke Deutscher, owner of Stepping Stone Childrens Center.
Not only is there a large population of young children, but Northwest Landings natural setting – complete with a trail system, parks and open space – provides an ideal environment for recreational activities.
Stepping Stone uses a hands-on learning approach for both individual and group learning activities.
It provides a rich classroom environment appropriate to a childs current stage of development and an evolving curriculum that is diverse and flexible enough to meet the needs of each child.
Stepping Stone Childrens Center at Northwest Landing is located at 2212 Palisade Blvd. in DuPont.

Northwest Landing is a 3,200-acre planned community in the historic City of DuPont, located 15 miles south of Tacoma and 15 miles north of Olympia.
