With the toss of a coin in late 1922, brothers John and Walter Scott decided to immigrate from their native Scotland to the United States.
A few months later, they arrived at Ellis Island. By the years end, John had married an American girl, and in 1925 the young couple arrived in Seattle with their infant son.
Recounting years later that the city looked like City Beautiful in Pilgrims Progress, Scott would build his own real estate firm based on quality customer service.
Today his grandson, J. Lennox Scott, carries on this family tradition as president of John L. Scott Real Estate.
John L. Scott currently has 107 offices and over 2,800 sales associates located throughout the states of Washington, Oregon and Idaho.
