“Nancy Bristow, associate professor in the history department, is the new faculty athletics representative at the University of Puget Sound. Bristow was appointed by President Susan Resneck Pierce.She succeeds Bill Dasher, who served in the role for a number of years and is currently on sabbatical.Faculty athletic representatives contribute a faculty perspective in athletics administration by serving in an advisory capacity.Bristow will work with Richard Ulrich, director of physical education, athletics and recreation. She serves as an advisor to President Pierce on intercollegiate athletic matters, represents UPS to the NCAA, and may serve as a member of an NCAA committee.UPS was accepted as an active member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association, or NCAA, Division III on September 1.”
