The Port of Tacoma recently promoted Dorcas Nepple to Director of Contracts and Purchasing. In this position, Nepple manages a staff of nine and is responsible for all public procurement activities for the Port.
According to Lou Paulsen, the Port’s Senior Director of Facilities Development, Nepple serves as a technical resource for procurement specifications and contract management, and she provides guidance to ensure that proposed Port contracts are in compliance with applicable local and state laws.
“Dorcas has been with the Port of Tacoma for 17 years, and for the majority of that time she has worked in contract administration, most recently serving as Acting Director of Contracts and Purchasing.” Paulsen said. “We’re very excited to have her take on this challenge.”
Nepple is a member of the Northwest Construction Consumer Council (NWCCC), currently serving as Vice Chair and the designated Chair Person for 2006. She is also a member of the Construction Specifications Institute.
