Clover Park Technical College and the Harold E. LeMay Museum in Tacoma, Washington, in partnership with the Collectors Foundation in Traverse City, Michigan, are proud to announce two new scholarship opportunities for students enrolled at Clover Park Technical College (CPTC).

The Clover Park/LeMay Vehicle Restoration scholarship, funded by the Collectors Foundation, will provide two $5,000.00 scholarship opportunities for two students enrolled in the Automotive Restoration and Customization and/or Automotive Upholstery programs at CPTC.

“This scholarship is an excellent opportunity for enthusiastic students to achieve their career goals,” said Dr. Sharon McGavick, CPTC President.  “It will allow our students access to an easier education where they won’t have to worry about financial hardship.”

The CPTC Foundation plans to forward selected students to LeMay Museum representatives for review.  CPTC Foundation expects to name the recipients after Jan. 3, 2006.

“Our college’s unique partnership with LeMay Museum gives our students the hands-on experience they will need in this expanding line of work,” said Keith Dyson, Division I Dean for CPTC.  “This scholarship is a golden opportunity for Clover Park to provide an educational experience to students that may not otherwise be able to afford one.”

The Harold E. LeMay Museum classic car collection was recognized in the Guinness Book of World records as the largest privately held car collection in the world.  At its peak, the collection was in excess of 3,000 automobiles, motorcycles, trucks and other vehicles.

The Collector’s Foundation, which is funding the scholarship opportunity, is part of the Hagerty Insurance Company and is the largest insurance agency for collector cars and classic boats in the United States.

The Automotive Restoration and Customization and Automotive Upholstery programs are located in the state-of-the art 85,000 square-feet Automotive Education and Training center on CPTC’s Lakewood campus.
