Bates students nominated to All-Washington Academic Team

Two Bates Technical College students have been nominated to the All-Washington Academic Team.

Liliya Tarasova, is a second-year Administrative Office Assistant student. Liliya and her family emigrated to the United States from the Ukraine five years ago. Lilya became fluent in English during here high school years, and serves as a translator for her family and friends. She is interested in Communications, and plans to work in a community center where she can lead classes to enhance self-esteem and build relationships.

Diana Taylor is a Legal Office Assistant student who spent 23 years as a homemaker before returning to college. Her goal is to obtain a degree in psychology and work with abused children.

As nominees to the All-Academic Team, each student will receive a $750 scholarship sponsored by KeyBank and the Northwest Education Loan Association. A ceremony recognizing the All-Washington Academic Team scholars state-wide will be held at South Puget Sound Community College on March 2.
