A public forum to discuss downtown parking issues will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. on June 22 at Club Zoë at 1710 Market St. The meeting will be hosted by the Downtown Parking Advisory Committee, a 10-member body organized by the Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber and recognized by the City of Tacoma. Members from the City of Tacoma, Pierce Transit and other agencies will be on hand to address questions about parking overall, especially relating to time zones, the new electronic handheld parking devices, chain parking enforcement and fee structures. The Downtown Parking Advisory Committee is seeking input from residents, business owners, employees and visitors about how parking can best be structured to serve the needs of those living, working and visiting downtown.
