Law enforcement officers participating in the St. Patrick’s Day weekend DUI and Traffic Safety emphasis patrols arrested 63 motorists for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
The arrest total is second only to the 67 DUI arrests during the 2000 New Year’s emphasis patrol. Last years St. Patricks Day weekend patrol generated 51 DUI arrests. Citations for minors in possession of alcohol were given to 52 persons, and a convenience store was cited for selling alcohol to a minor.
