During Saturdays DUI & Traffic Safety emphasis patrol, 16 motorists were arrested for driving under the influence, three for possession of drugs, four for driving while license suspended, and two more on outstanding warrants.

Morrow, a Milton resident, was killed along with her fiancé and his roommate in a crash near Washington State University last June. Three more were seriously injured.
The drunk driver fled the area a week before his trial and is still at large.
Law enforcement officers from Bonney Lake, Buckley, DuPont, Fife, Gig Harbor, Puyallup, Puyallup Tribal, Roy, Ruston, Sumner, Tacoma and University Place police departments participated in the emphasis patrol.
They were joined by deputies from the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department, troopers from the Washington State Patrol and agents from the Washington State Liquor Control Board.
Fort Lewis Military Police and McChord Security Forces held simultaneous patrols on their respective bases.
The monthly emphasis patrols are coordinated by the Tacoma/Pierce County DUI Task Force and supported by the Washington Traffic Safety Commission.
