KeyBank and the City of Tacoma will host the 10th annual Bank to Bay 10K Run, 5K Run/Walk and 1K Kids’ Run on Sun., Sept. 13, in downtown Tacoma. Registration opens at 8 a.m., the 1K Kids’ Run begins at 9 a.m., followed by the 10K Run at 9:20 a.m. and the 5K Run/Walk at 9:35 a.m.
The USA Track and Field-certified course, which is closed to traffic, begins in the Museum District between South 15th and 17th streets on Pacific Avenue and runs behind Old City Hall and along Schuster Parkway to Ruston Way.
“We’re excited to be celebrating the 10th anniversary of Bank to Bay and we hope to continue partnering with the City to present a premier event for many years to come,” said Mitzi Primeau, marketing manager for KeyBank’s South Puget Sound District. “Bank to Bay is a wonderful way to promote running, walking and healthy living in our community.”
Runners, walkers, wheelchair athletes, kids and families are all encouraged to participate in Bank to Bay. Registration is $25 for those who sign up before close of business on Sat., Sept. 12, and $30 on race day. Once registered, you will receive a bib number, timing chip and New Balance technical running shirt. Kids 10 and younger may participate for free in the 1K Run, and the first 200 kids to register receive a free T-shirt.
This year Bank to Bay has selected Communities In Schools (CIS) of Tacoma as the charity partner. CIS has strong core beliefs in kids, schools, family and community and is one of 194 local affiliates serving kids in 27 states in more than 3,250 educational sites.
