4 contractors bid on Tacoma environmental video project

Four contractors have bid on a City of Tacoma project to produce a series of environmental videos that could soon be shown in classrooms, on the Internet, and to neighborhood community groups.

According to a legal notice published last month in the Tacoma Daily Index, the company awarded the contract will produce six short videos that appeal to children aged nine and older, as well as adults, and supplement Tacoma’s EnviroChallenger lessons; encourage personal actions to protect the environment; highlight Tacoma as a progressive, environmental leader; provide virtual tours for those not able to visit facilities; and demonstrate how utility funds are used.

The contractors that submitted bids on the $25,000 project are ACT (Fife, Wash.); EVI Productions (Federal Way, Wash.); IMAP (Seattle, Wash.); and Turtle Dust (Tacoma, Wash.). The bid deadline expired at 11 a.m. on Tues., June 3. A contract is expected to be awarded by Mon., June 23.
