More than 50 exhibitors have signed up to participate in the fourth annual South Sound Sustainability Expo on Sat., March 5, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Greater Tacoma Convention and Trade Center, 1500 Broadway, in Tacoma.
People attending the free event will be able to talk with businesses, organizations and individuals who are promoting economic growth through sustainable practices. Green building, recycling, waste management, green transportation, local food, community gardens, green energy and energy conservation, and natural yard care are among the topics exhibitors will present.Exhibitors are listed on the event Web site at http://www.cptcgreenlining.blogspot.com .
“Taking the Next Step: From Idea to Action” is the theme of this year’s South Sound Sustainability Expo, which is a partnership of the City of Tacoma and Clover Park Technical College, Pacific Lutheran University, Pierce College, Tacoma Community College, the University of Puget Sound and the University of Washington Tacoma.
Speakers will provide additional information on eating local in Tacoma, home energy audits, sustainable commutes/sustainable communities, and low-impact development opportunities in Tacoma.
