On Sept. 16, A Street, between Puyallup Avenue and Dock Street, will be closed. The A Street crossing is often blocked by trains and periodically flooded so a temporary closure is planned until a permanent closure is designed and constructed.
Traffic and pedestrians will be redirected to the D Street overpass. This overpass provides a much safer and consistent route for users of the Thea Foss Waterway and East Foss Peninsula.
Before A Street is permanently closed, the City plans to host a public meeting for those citizens and stakeholders interested in providing feedback about the design. The public meeting will take place by the end of October.
