City Council is scheduled to hear the final reading of an ordinance on June 30 that would make amendments to the Comprehensive Plan by modifying the Environmental Policy Element, the Capital Facilities Element, and the Neighborhood Element regarding stormwater management; revising the Transportation Element by adding 10 unfunded projects located in the eastside of Tacoma; and revising the Growth Strategy and Development Concept Element regarding the boundary of the South 56th St. and South Tacoma Way Mixed-Use Center. The Comprehensive Plan and Land Use Regulatory Code are amended each year. The 2009 amendments are presented in two adopting ordinances; one to amend the Comprehensive Plan and one to amend the Regulatory Code.
